Landy's life experiences have deeply influenced her design philosophy, which celebrates the beauty of nature and the interconnectedness of all living things. Her journey began in Taiwan, followed by living in the USA and eventually settling in Australia. She designed the Arbor Vitae collection to symbolise the strength and resilience of roots, the deep ties that bind people to their heritage. The roots can be metaphorically linked to the idea of unity, as they spread across the Earth, connecting different cultures, peoples, and ideas. Her daughter, Lin Ling, is a vibrant 12-year-old with a fresh perspective shaped by her upbringing in a multicultural environment in Perth. Growing up biracial—Taiwanese and Australian—Lin Ling brings a youthful energy and curiosity to the collection. Her love for different cultures and her fascination with storytelling have led her to design pieces that represent diversity and unity. Together with her mother, she has contributed her own creative voice to the Unity Dolls Collection, a celebration of global cultures through beautifully crafted charms. The Arbor Vitae Collection is the roots of Landy and Lin Ling's collaboration, representing wisdom, experience, and the nurturing aspects of life.
